Creating the future from here—GWJ: GlobalWafers Japan

Environment

In order to achieve a sustainable society, GlobalWafers Japan will continue to provide products that are environmentally friendly, safe, and offer peace of mind.

Renewable Energy Usage Targets

To realize its business philosophy of “Responsible Growth,” GlobalWafers Group (GWC) voluntarily set a goal in 2021 to achieve 100% renewable energy usage by 2050 and officially joined the RE100 initiative in 2022.
In June 2025, GWC announced a significant acceleration of this target, bringing the 100% renewable energy goal forward by 10 years to 2040 across all Group operations.
Along with this update, GWC revised its interim renewable energy milestones from the original targets of 20% in 2030, 35% in 2035, 50% in 2040, and 100% in 2050 to new targets of 35% in 2030, 55% in 2035, and 100% in 2040.

By expanding the use of renewable energy at all sites and reducing CO₂ emissions from electricity consumption, GWC is committed to achieving net-zero carbon by 2050 and demonstrating this commitment through concrete action.
By leveraging our global manufacturing sites, we aim to supply wafers with low carbon mileage and a reduced product carbon footprint, driving the low-carbon transformation together with our value chain partners.
We remain dedicated to creating a sustainable future in collaboration with our customers and business partners worldwide.
